Hello golfers,

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody I thank you for participating in the 2nd annual FORE! The Memories golf tournament. Proceeds from the tournament go to the Georgia Alzheimer’s Association to assist the victims of this horrible disease, as well as other charitable projects of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody.

Just like last year, we hope to have another wonderful day of golf. The weather forecast seems to be improving with a warm day expected and a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms. We’ll see what Mother Nature has in store.

The tournament will take place at St. Marlo Country Club, 7755 St Marlo Country Club Pkwy, Duluth, GA 30097. Your name will be known at the gate into the community and will serve as your ticket to get in. If there are problems getting in, please call Bob O’Brien at 770-335-2829.

Registration begins at 9AM. Your carts will be identified with your name and the hole # where you start the round. Water and lunch will be in your cart.

This will be a Captain’s Choice scramble. All players will play the best ball of the team all the way to the hole. There is no requirement to play each player’s tee shot. Just play the best ball all the way in.

At registration you have the opportunity to purchase a Ditty Bag. If you purchase a ditty bag ($50), you will find inside your entry ticket to the $5,000 Putting Contest – you must purchase a Ditty Bag to participate in the putting contest. The putting contest consists of 2 stages. All the contestants participate in the morning stage (starting at 10AM) which will be held before we play our round of golf. The winner (closest to the hole) of the morning stage advances to the afternoon stage and the chance to win the $5,000 prize. In case of a tie during the morning stage, we will hold a tiebreaker putt to determine who advances to the afternoon stage. The afternoon stage will be held after everyone has finished playing.

Play begins at approximately 11AM.

We have a $10,000 Hole-in-One contest on par-3 hole #11. Monitors will be at the hole to certify a winner. A hole-in-one on the other par-3’s will get a prize but only hole #11 is the money hole.

Prizes will also be awarded for:

·  Longest Drive Men – #18

·  Longest Drive Women – #2

·  Closest to the pin Men – #16

·  Closest to the pin Women – #7

Hole #5 will feature our Long Ball hitter, Kyle Blakely. It’s your choice if you want to spend a small sum for Kyle to hit your tee shot. We’re pretty sure it will be longer and straighter than your normal shot.

After play, around 4:30PM, the Putting Contest qualifier makes their $5,000 shot once he/she arrives at the clubhouse. This too will be monitored to certify the winner if the putt is made.

At the end of the play, please go to the downstairs meeting room for food and drinks. Awards will be given in the area. There is also a silent auction with various items for you to bid on. Remember, the money raised is going to help Alzheimer’s victims manage this horrible disease, as well as benefiting some other of our club’s charitable service projects.
